Use of IT in Medical

With the advancement in the human civilization and lifestyles, the ways of communication and exchange of information among the individuals and/or group are also being complex, yet easier, reliable and faster. In the past few years, the rapid enhancement in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and embedment of internet into the everyday life (Ward et al., 2001) has impacted on various aspects of human life including medical.

This enhancement is introducing vast opportunities and challenges to medical education and medical health care. ICT is impacting the teaching- learning process in medical education (Ward et al., 2001). The use of ICT in medical health care and clinical setting is defined by the term Healthcare Information Technology [HCIT] (Malik and Hossain, 2015). As there is a general saying, �Good is always followed by an evil� which implies that every sort of things will have its own advantages and at the same time, disadvantages too. Use of ICT in medical can have both pros and cons, but this research essay will deal with the advancement in ICT which has positively impacted the medical education and medical health care. Use of electronic medical records, initiation of e-health and use of multimedia and internet in medical education are proved to be boon of ICT in medicine and medical education.
